Eau Claire Man Charged With 4 Felonies After Spitting Blood On Officer

Eau Claire police say a man who was being taken to jail for fighting spit blood on an officer’s face last week.  Bouncers at an Eau Claire bar told responding officers Drake Hardy had punched five people in the face.  Police spotted a man matching Hardy’s description across the street.  When they approached him, he gave a false name, then tried to run away.  Officers say Hardy resisted and fought them while they were finding more than six-and-a-half grams of marijuana in his pockets.  He now faces four felony charges.  Hardy is free on bond, with a court appearance scheduled in late August.
