The Sheboygan Police Department is looking for the public’s help to fund their K9 Program. The program has been in place since 1989, and the K-9 Unit has proven to be an important tool utilized by the police to combat crime and build community relations. The SPD wants the program to continue, but with K9 Kramer retiring earlier this year and K9 Bud scheduled to retire this upcoming fall, the department needs to raise around $150,000 to train and outfit K9 Max and his partner, along with a second k9 unit. If you wish to help support the Sheboygan Police Department’s K9 Program, you can donate at www.gofundme.com/sheboygan-police-k-9-fund. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Sgt. Ryan Schmitt (920) 459-3333, ext. 5109 or by email at ryan.schmitt@sheboyganwi.gov.
