Officials say recent weather conditions have mosquito populations increasing in Wisconsin. The Agricultural Agent with U-W-Extension in Chippewa County says the mild winter with ample snow cover protected some of last year’s eggs. The increased rainfall recently is also to blame. Mosquitoes can carry diseases and high populations can drive people indoors, affecting the economy of the area.
