A massive multi-state book theft operation was finally thwarted, the University of Wisconsin Green Bay has decided to update their security measures. A professor noticed that books began disappearing in June of last year. The following investigation revealed that other professors had their books stolen as well, with the total cost estimated to be over $12,000. Ryan Lewis and Genesis Garcia Abellar, both 35 years old out of Texas, were discovered after they were seen entering a campus building many times over a two-day period. The investigation revealed that the duo had stolen books from several other UW campuses as well as from several other states. The men were indicted in federal court last week on suspicion of conspiring to transport stolen goods and transporting stolen goods across state lines.
