The Manitowoc Engineering department is making us aware today of a couple of street or lane closures in the city. Greg Minikel said North 21st street, between Rankin & Emerson Streets, is closed to through traffic to accommodate the repair of a sanitary sewer. It’s anticipated the work will be completed and the street will be re-opened to traffic by the end of the day. Meanwhile, a contractor for Manitowoc Public Utilities DDS, is performing electrical work on Franklin Street between South 8th & ‘9th Streets. Parking lanes on both sides of Franklin in that stretch will be closed to traffic along with the east bound driving lane. Lane closures are expected for about a week according to Minikel.
