Less than two weeks after the California company placed its scooters in Milwaukee, the city is suing Bird Rides, Incorporated. The city filed the suit Friday and requested an injunction to order Bird to remove its scooters from the public right-of-way. The suit argues the scooters are illegal to operate in Milwaukee. Scooter users could face fines of almost 99-dollars. A hearing on the city’s motions will be held Friday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. A cease and desist request was issued June 27th, but the company failed to comply.
