A fire in Green Bay left a garage as a total loss early yesterday morning. The incident occurred on the 500 block of Goodell Street at around 4:00 AM, and was reported after neighbors saw flames coming from the back of the residence. When crews arrived, the garage behind the home was completely consumed by the inferno, and was threatening to spread to the neighboring home. All residents and their pets were able to escape without injury, although they had to do so by climbing to the roof on the first floor porch due to the where the blaze was occurring. Neighboring homes were damaged by the heat from the fire, but no damage estimate has been released at this time. The cause remains under investigation.
