Officials at the Lincoln Hills School report the discovery of drugs at least nine times over the last two-and-a-half years. Juveniles incarcerated at the prison reportedly talk about being high with staff members, making little effort to conceal the activity. Earlier this year, the Department of Corrections found out that marijuana was being smuggled into the prison through its visiting room. The visitors who were involved have been banned for a year. Nurses at the youth prison now crush pills to keep the residents from pretending to take their medications so the pills can be sold later.
