The driver of a Wausau taxi has helped authorities track down a convicted sex offender who had gone missing after removing his G-P-S ankle bracelet. Authorities had been looking for 60-year-old Floyd Romatowski for almost a week. He was supposed to wear the tracking device for the rest of his life after sexually assaulting a 15-year-old victim in 1996. The driver says he recognized his passenger, but he couldn’t place him. When Romatowski failed to pay his cab fare, the driver called his dispatcher. That’s when a second driver informed him about the fugitive. The first driver immediately called the police.
