The Coast Guard in Green Bay rescued a kayaker prior to the 4th of July fireworks show. The boater was struggling after beings swept into the end of one of the floating docks along CityDeck, prompting a member of the coast guard to jump into action. He jumped on to the dock from his patrol boat and pulled the unnamed kayaker up to safety, while bystanders assisted. The issue was resolved in a matter of minutes, allowing the Coast Guard to continue their patrol of the Fox River. The man appeared to be uninjured, as he climbed back into his kayak and continued on his way.
