A report from the Manitowoc County Human Services Department shows a long list of abuse and neglect violations lead to the death of a 7-year old local boy. The information filed with the Wisconsin Department of Children & Families indicates the un-named child was taken to a local hospital April 20th in critical condition for treatment of injuries classified as not being accidental. County Human Services cited confidentiality laws in not allowing them to release the boy’s name. Meanwhile, Inspector Gregg Schetter has confirmed that the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the April 20th death of 7-year old Ethan Hauschultz of Newton. He could not verify that the victim in the human services report was the Hauschultz boy and stated the sheriff’s office is still awaiting word from the Manitowoc County Coroner & Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s offices. No charges have been filed in the case.
