A 19-year-old driver ran from the scene of a single-car accident on Madison’s east side Tuesday night. He initially told investigating officers he had been jogging in the area and wasn’t involved in the accident. Police say he lost control of his car, over-corrected to avoid another vehicle, hit the shoulder of the road and caused his car to flip over. When police didn’t believe his story, the man ran away but was quickly caught. His name hasn’t been released and police determined he wasn’t impaired. He was cited for failure to have control, hit-and-run and operating after revocation.
