An Independence Day tradition established 15 years ago lines Marshfield streets with American flags once again. Hiller’s True Value Hardware store started with three thousand flags in 2003. Each flag has a small card attached thanking God and veterans for our freedom. Thought it started in Marshfield, the Fourth of July event has spread to nearby Stratford, Spencer, Auburndale, Pittsville, and Rozellville. A crew of volunteers passed out the flags Sunday. The total cost of several thousand dollars is covered by sponsors who like to see the red, white and blue flying each year.
