An effort will be made to determine the number of homeless people in Manitowoc County. Local agencies will be uniting again for what is called the Point in Time homeless count. An accurate count will help identify services needed in the county to aid those in need of housing. The information is also reported at the state and federal levels to be used in allocating homeless assistance.
Local agencies are looking for volunteers to help with the county. Volunteers will receive training and shifts lasting for two hours. the count will also be taken in Door, Kewaunee and Sheboygan counties. Those who would like to volunteer can contact
Kate Markwardt at Lakeshore CAP.
