Some La Crosse food programs are concerned about potential new Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program restrictions in the Farm Bill passed by the U-S House. The House bill would expand work requirements for those relying on SNAP. Hunger Task Force Executive Director Shelly Fortner says the changes could hurt people who are trying to get off the program. Fortner says if the bill goes through, 23-thousand Wisconsin kids will be off food share. The U-S Senate is expected to vote on the measure in the coming weeks.
