The Manitowoc County Closed Tennis Tournament hasn’t been offered the past 2-summers, due to a lack of interest. Steve Mirsberger, President of the Manitowoc County Tennis Association, tells Seehafer News that will change, adding they “used” to have a 2-weekend tourney for adults and junior players.
Mirsberger and others with the M-C-T-A are seeing some encouraging developments and that’s why they’re offering a ‘Junior’ tournament on Saturday, July 14th.
The Boys & Girls Singles Tournament next month is open to all interested Manitowoc County Youth tennis players in 5 divisions with matches held at Lincoln Park for players 12-and-Over
All players will be guaranteed two matches, and Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place and consolation winners. The Entry Fee is $15 and all entrants receive a t-shirt.
Signup forms are available at the YMCA, the MCTA Facebook page or from tennis instructors at Manitowoc & Two Rivers city tennis lessons. Mirsberger says the entry deadline is Monday, July 9th.
