There is some new development happening in the northwestern Manitowoc County Village of Maribel, The Maribel Grain I-43 One-Stop BP Gas Station & Burger King Restaurant officially opened for business last Friday. The 7500-square foot development marks the biggest piece of new construction in the village in 3-decades. Meanwhile, Advantage Transport has purchased the former I-43 One-Stop building and is expected to begin renovating the interior and possibly starting new construction. Another company, X-Treme Trucking, bought the former Ridge restaurant and will relocate its headquarters & around 20-office jobs to that facility by the middle of next month. Maribel also has opened its first-ever TIF (tax incremental financing district) district to cover infrastructure construction on 23-acres affecting both sides of County Trunk ‘Z’, to the west of I-43. Village officials believe the land’s proximity to the interstate and high volume traffic at the new One-Stop gas station/restaurant will bring additional investments to the community.
