Bail is set at $15,000 cash for a 33-year-old Manitowoc man who police say broke into a Manitowoc woman’s home threatening her. Anthony M. Fabian is charged with two counts of criminal damage to property, two counts of criminal trespass to a dwelling and suspicion of strangulation.
Police say the victim arrived home around midnight Wednesday with a friend. Fabian, who she believes broke into her home, was inside sitting on the stairs. He proceeded to put a hand around her throat attempting to push her against a door when the victim’s friend managed to put Fabian in a headlock allowing her to escape. He fled before police arrived only to return approximately five hours later. She told police that he kicked a door as she was going to sleep, chasing her down the stairs and breaking her phone as she attempted to call 911. He again fled on foot but was located a short time later at Lincoln Park and taken into custody.
Conditions of bail are that Fabian have no contact with the victim or her friend—possess no weapons including knives—maintain absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol and report to police for photos and prints within 72 hours of release. He remains in the County jail with an initial appearance scheduled for Monday afternoon at 2:30.
