The Wisconsin Court of Appeals has overturned the conviction of a 22-year-old driver involved in a fatal accident. The court determined the blood sample which showed Dartavian D. Watson was drunk was taken without proper consent. Watson ran a Racine stop sign in October 2015, crashing into a building and causing the death of a passenger. Twenty-five-year-old Robert Johnson died two days after the accident from serious head injuries. Watson was found to have a blood alcohol content above the legal limit and he was sentenced to five years in prison last year. The court ruled the blood draw should have been inadmissible at his trial.
