The 91-year-old Oriental Theatre in Milwaukee will undergo renovations starting July 1st under new ownership. The iconic movie palace will reportedly still be operated as a film cinema. The new owners, Milwaukee Film, say moviegoers will see as many as three times as many film titles each year. They are promising to upgrade the audio and projection before the venue reopens to the public. Milwaukee Film is investing a reported 10-million dollars to give the Oriental a makeover. It closed following Thursday’s screenings.
