Governor Scott Walker is saying that Wisconsin National Guard troops will be staying at the United States-Mexico border. Walker made the comment during a stop in La Crosse Wednesday, saying he wouldn’t rescind his order to send the troops to Arizona to assist with border security. The governor says the troops are only serving in a support role and aren’t involved in law enforcement. Nearly 30 Wisconsin lawmakers recently signed a letter asking Walker to withdraw the offer of National Guard troops.
