Burglars Take Garage Door Opener From Unlocked Car, Get In House

A 21-year-old burglary victim helped two crooks by leaving his car unlocked.  Madison police responded to a 9-1-1 call early Tuesday morning.  The victim told officers he was awakened by people walking around in his house.  He said he saw two people leave, get into a vehicle and drive away.  An investigation revealed the burglars had used a garage door opener located in the man’s unlocked car to get inside the house.  They got away with a gun, keys to the home and car, cash and several other items.
