The Brewers and Pirates were postponed by heavy rain in Pittsburgh last night. The game will be made up next month as part of a traditional doubleheader on Saturday July 14th, with game 1 starting at 11:35 AM. The Brewers are back in Milwaukee today, where they open a four game series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Miller Park. The Crew starts play in a virtual tie for 1st place in the NL Central with the Chicago Cubs, after the Cubbies defeated the Dodgers 4-0 at Wrigley Field. Tonight’s broadcast coverage on 1240 AM WOMT begins at 6:35 PM with Bob Uecker and Jeff Levering.
In other Brewers news, they sent struggling, star outfielder Ryan Braun back to Los Angeles yesterday for treatment on his aching right thumb. The ‘cryotherapy’ procedure reportedly allowed Braun to be able to rejoin the team in time for the start of tonight’s Cardinals series. The 6-time All-Star has just 3-hits in his last 17-at bats and is hitting only .236 with 8-Homeruns & 31-RBI’s on the season.
