Body Of Missing 13-Year-Old Found In Silver Lake

Four days after he went missing at Silver Lake in Portage, searchers say they have recovered the body of a 13-year-old boy.  Witnesses told police Shayn Wolffarth had been playing in the water near the boat launch at Silver Lake Beach Sunday at about 6:00 P-M.  Both sonar scanners and a dive team from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were used in the lengthy search.  Silver Lake is said to be very deep and a thick weed bed limited the effectiveness of the sonar scanning equipment.  The teenager’s body is being evaluated by the Columbia County Medical Examiner.
