A Milwaukee man was sitting in the backseat of a police squad car last weekend when officers say he fired a gun. Thirty-one-year-old Marquel Hinkle said he forgot he had the weapon and, when he took it out of his waistband to put it on the floor, it accidentally went off. Hinkle was in that squad car while officers investigated a report of somebody firing shots at a passing vehicle. Officers were looking for evidence when they heard the shot and found a single bullet hole in the floor of the squad car. Hinkle is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and endangering safety.
