There’s another update this morning in the post-murder conviction of Steven Avery. The attorney for the Mishicot area man has filed a motion for a substitution of judges, overseeing the appeal of his 2007 homicide conviction in the slaying of Teresa Halbach. According to online court records, Avery’s case is returning to circuit court as his attorney’s say they want to introduce thousands of files of what they refer to as previously undisclosed evidence. He and his nephew Brendan Dassey were found guilty of the 2005 murder in Manitowoc County and both are serving life sentences. A U.S. Supreme Court hearing that was scheduled for this week for justices to review Dassey’s appeal for oral arguments in his case has been rescheduled.
