Christian Yelich and Jonathan Villar pounded homers to support winning pitcher Brent Suter in an 8-3 Miller Park victory for the Milwaukee Brewers over the St. Louis Cardinals on Memorial Day. Suter gave up three runs in five innings of pitching, but he also knocked in a pair with a fourth-inning double. Suter in not surprised by his success at the plate.
The Brewers scored the first four runs, watching St. Louis cut the lead to 4-3, then clinched it when Villar hit a three-run homer in the seventh. Ryan Bran was three-for-three and Yelich stole two bases as Milwaukee won for the 10th time in the last 12 games. The Mayor of Ding Dong City, Tavis Shaw says that the team is not su0prised by their position, which is tied for the 2nd best record in the entire MLB.
