Sheboygan North lefthander Jackson Potthast tossed a 5-hitter and struck out 10 last night in pitching the ‘Golden Raiders’ to a 5-to-1 victory over Manitowoc Lincoln. It was Senior Day for the Ships in their regular season finale at Municipal Field. Potthast was in command the whole way in not allowing a walk during his complete game effort. Lincoln starter Andrew Eberhardt took the loss. Jared Lensmeyer drove in the Ships run with a 6th inning double that ‘plated’ Brayden Broecker who had doubled one batter earlier and went 2-for-3. Brent Widder had a double and drew 2-walks for North. Lincoln will play a WIAA Regional game at Neenah next Tuesday, while Sheboygan North will host Milwaukee Riverside ‘tomorrow before traveling to Fond du lac for their Regional opener.
Also in High School baseball Valders defeated visiting Mishicot 6-to-1. Fletcher Dallas outdueled Bryce Henninger on the mound, as Dallas pitched a 3-hitter, allowing just an unearned run with 9-strikeouts & 1-walk. Trevor Leist was 2-for-4 with 2-runs batted in while Dylan Faber doubled and scored a run. The Indians will host the Roncalli/Southern Door winner, while the Vikings play-host to either Luxemburg-Casco or Two Rivers in Regional openers next Tuesday.
