That is Gary Underwood the former co-owner of Red Arrow Products and one of three developers who are working to transform the former Elks Club golf course property into a mixed-use development. Underwood said the site had originally been purchased by Red Arrow with the intention of building a Headquarters there. That didn’t happen so he, along with Peter & Alex Allie, formed a partnership for the approximately 50-acre site known as Bay Pointe Development. He tells Seehafer News they had been working with Angelus Retirement Properties for an Assisted Living Structure for 2-years…
Underwood says the roundabout expected to be constructed in 2019 “is necessary to put a new road through there and further develop the property.
As Underwood says with respect to the property, “we have to listen to what people want.”
He believes the first condominium development along with the assisted living facility, should be underway by later this year. Underwood said they plan to develop about 35-acres of the former golf course and acreage north of Johnston Drive.
