Milwaukee city officials blame the “Fast and Furious” movie franchise for the rapid growth of street racing in Wisconsin’s largest city. Members of the Public Safety and Health Committee are backing a few changes to move those racers and spectators off the streets and onto the Milwaukee Mile track at Wisconsin State Fair Park. Committee members are backing an ordinance to fine spectators at those races anywhere from 20 to 400-dollars. The idea moves to the full Common Council next. Racing promoter Gregg McKarns says 141 competitors have already signed up to race at the historic track. Racing street legal cars has been successful for McKarns in the Madison and La Crosse areas.
