Brewers catcher Stephen Vogt will have surgery on his shoulder later this week. Vogt sought a second opinion for Los Angeles specialist Neal El-Attrache Tuesday and the need for the procedure was confirmed. An M-R-I of his shoulder in Milwaukee had revealed damage to the labrum, rotator cuff, and capsule. That indicates an extensive injury which will be season-ending but could also threaten to end the 33-year-old’s career. He suffered a strained shoulder during spring training and was rehabbing with Class Double-A Biloxi when he did the damage while making a throw to third base.
