Ten people were transported to a hospital following a fire in a Green Bay apartment building. Crews arrived on the scene on the 1400 block of Smith Street just before 6:00 yesterday morning. It is being reported that several rescues were performed, with all residents being accounted for. The inferno was contained after around 45 minutes of battling, and crews continued to battle hot spots for some time after. There was significant damage to the building, including a partially collapsed roof, and fire and smoke damage causing the building to be uninhabitable. Damage was estimated to cost around $300,000. The cause of the blaze remains unknown at this time.
