Preliminary work on the cleanup of a fire-damaged elementary school in Superior is going on this week. The new Cooper Elementary School building was damaged by fire two-and-a-half weeks ago. Insurance will pay for the cleanup. School officials haven’t said if the fire will delay the official opening of the new school. Classes were supposed to start with the fall term. It is expected that a final decision on that will be made by the middle of next month. The cause of the school fire still hasn’t been established.
