*UPDATE* Bail Set For Manitowoc Woman Accused Of Stealing

Bail was set at $500 cash for a 31-year-old Manitowoc woman accused of stealing several items from Kohl’s Department Store. Amber L. Collins is charged with retail theft and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. She’s also charged with three counts of Felony Bail Jumping in connection with charges in other open cases dating back to December of last year. Police arrived at the store just before 8 Tuesday night and reviewed surveillance video showing Collins allegedly grabbing several items—entering a dressing room and walking out of the store without paying. After being read her Miranda Rights she admitted taking the items telling police that people keep stealing her things and she needed clothing for a new job she was starting. Collins remains in the Manitowoc County Jail and her initial appearance is scheduled for next Monday afternoon at 2:30.
