Milwaukee has been awarded a three-million-dollar federal grant to restore one of the last remaining wetlands in the city’s harbor estuary. Mayor Tom Barrett announced Tuesday that around seven-and-a-half acres of wetlands along South Marina Drive in Bay View will be restored. Plans will be completed later this year and work is scheduled to begin in 2019. Preliminary designs will be discussed at a May 3rd public meeting.
