Jeff Levering Calling Thames Homerun
In a case of Déjà vu, a two-run homer by Eric Thames and a shutout by the pitching crew led to a 2-0 victory for the Brewers over the Reds. Zach Davies started the night on the mound, striking out 2 in 6 and one third innings. Dan Jennings and Jacob Barnes held the Reds scoreless over the last two-and-two-thirds innings, with Barnes earning his second save. Centerfielder Christian Yelich returned from a brief stretch on the disabled list to make a sliding catch of a fly ball which had bounced off the glove of left fielder Hernan Perez. Yelich was also one-for-two with two walks. Davies had an ugly earned run average of six-point-75 coming into the game against the division rivals. Chase Anderson starts tonight’s home game against the Marlins at 7:10 P-M.
