St. Francis Mayor CoryAnn St. Marie-Carls has been ousted in a special recall election held Tuesday in the Milwaukee suburb. Alderman Ken Tutaj received 11-hundred-75 votes, compared to 789 for the mayor. A little less than 40 percent of voters went to the polls. Tutaj claimed he saw government dysfunction first-hand. He said he witnessed Mayor St. Marie-Carls screaming at city staff. The former mayor said she did ask city employees tough questions, like any mayor. A private citizen got the recall question on the ballot by collecting more than 12-hundred signatures, accusing the mayor of “unprofessional behavior unbecoming of an elected official.”
