Wisconsin lawmakers were burning the midnight oil last night while trying to wrap up work for the current legislative session. Assembly members gave approval to the governor’s proposed 100-dollar-a-child tax rebate and an August sales tax holiday. Another bill passed includes 350-million dollars in borrowing to pay for a new adult prison. The final high-profile matter decided involves a bolstered tax incentive package for Kimberly-Clark, so the Texas-based company won’t close two plants and put 600 Wisconsin employees out of work. The package of bills still needs Wisconsin Senate approval before it goes to the governor for his signature.
