The 75th annual WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament will get underway this afternoon on the campus of UW-Madison. Division 1 Preliminaries open the competition At 3:00 this afternoon, followed by the Quarterfinals. Prelims’ in D-2 and ‘3 will take place tonight beginning about 7:15. Terry Stake is covering the State Tournament for Seehafer Broadcasting and it marks his 49th year of coverage. We asked him this morning what storylines he’ll be following at the Kohl Center.
There are 15 wrestlers competing from Manitowoc County…including 5 from Mishicot and 4 from Two Rivers. Junior Cody Holmes of the Raiders jumps up two weight classes to 120 this season, after earning a State title at ‘106’ last winter.

The weekend of activity concludes with the march-of-champions…and then championships in All 3 divisions on Saturday night.
