Bail is set at $2,500 cash for a Manitowoc man who was taken into custody yesterday this week in connection with a theft at Hobby Lobby. Daniel Garrett is charged with misdemeanor bail jumping and misdemeanor retail theft. Police were called to the local business just before 6 pm last Thursday night as employess reported a man had stolen a prism projector. The man, identified as Garrett, allegedly grabbed the item valued around $300 and walked out the door. One of the employees began chasing him as the he ran to a waiting truck which immediately sped off. Officers picked up Garrett and took him into custody. Conditions of bail are that Garrett have no contact with Hobby Lobby and report to the police department for fingerprints and photos within 48 hours of release. He remains in the county jail with his initial appearance scheduled for next monday afternoon at 1:30.
