Dane County authorities say a 53-year-old DeForest man, accused of shooting his wife in the head, was not allowed to attend his Tuesday court hearing. Kory M. Brown was being uncooperative. He is charged with two counts of attempted homicide and one count of intimidating a victim. Brown’s wife says she was in bed last Friday when he entered the room and shot her in the head. The 49-year-old victim says she had told her attorney to file divorce papers. Brown told investigators he shot her because he wanted to teach her a lesson. She is expected to survive.
