After looking over many bids, the Manitowoc Public School District has selected who will be performing the upgrades to Ron Rubick Municipal Field. Superintendent of the MPSD Mark Holzman, spoke with us and gave us the rundown.
He went on to explain that all the bids came in at or under the asking price. The visitor’s bleachers and sound system were in desperate need of repair, but the upgrades also will play another major role moving forward.
The ability to host WIAA Tournament games is huge for a couple of reasons. First, if a team were to earn home field advantage in the play offs, that team would actually be able to play at home, instead of being forced to travel, plus the field could be used for neutral site games as well.
