The Sheboygan Police Department was made aware of Social Media rumors, that claimed there may be an “active shooter” incident at Sheboygan South High School on Wednesday (2/21/18). The Sheboygan Police Department took steps to investigate this rumor. South High Administrators say that on Tuesday (2/20/18), they were able to prevent a student from leaving the school which apparently caused other students to speculate on Social Media. This led to an unverified post by mysheboygan.com about a possible threat for tomorrow, (2/21/2018). This then caused more concern within the community.
School administrators are currently in the process of contacting all families affected to dispell this rumor. Last night the schools Facebook page also shared this message
