The Silver Lake College women’s basketball team closed out the regular season on a 13 game winning streak after beating Andrews University out of Berrien Springs Michigan 70-45 yesterday afternoon. The Lady Lakers were up 31-22 at the half before outscoring the visitors 197-7 in the third quarter to take control. Coach Mike Flentje said it was Senior Day in the UW Manitowoc gymnasium, with Danelle Buck and Danielle Byrum honored in their final home game. Every player on the roster added at least one bucket, with Byrum leading the way with 20 points, including five three pointers. The Lady Lakers now sit at 21-7, and will find out if they will receive an invite to the USCAA National Tournament during the selection show today, at 4:00 PM.
