Brown County court officials say a murder trial could see 130 witnesses called to the stand over the next two weeks. Opening arguments are being offered today in Green Bay. George Burch is accused of murdering Nicole VanderHeyden in May 2016, leaving her body in a field near Bellevue. Burch’s attorneys will try to convince jurors that VanderHeyden’s boyfriend, Douglass Detrie, killed her. He was originally arrested, but prosecutors say they have cleared him as a suspect.
