With the upcoming winter storm preparing to strike, the Manitowoc County Highway Department is getting themselves prepared to battle Mother Nature once again. According to Highway Commissioner, Marc Holsman, there will be full coverage, consisting of 25 units performing overnight duties, if ice does present hazardous travel conditions. In a message to motorists, Holsman advises to minimize any unnecessary commuting, and to leave plenty of space between vehicle, to allow ample time to come to a stop, or avoid a collision. Also, be aware of upcoming hills, bridges, intersections, and curves, and do not stop on the shoulder of the highway, unless you are experiencing an emergency.
