Man Held For Allegedly Shooting Wife In Head

A DeForest man is being held in the Dane County Jail in a shooting incident from last Friday night.  DeForest Police say he called 9-1-1 to say he had just shot his wife.  The operator convinced the man to leave his home and police took him into custody.  His 49-year-old wife was found with a head wound in the parking lot at the DeForest Public Safety building.  She was taken to U-W Hospital for treatment of a wound which isn’t thought to be life-threatening.  The victim tells investigators she was in bed when her husband shot her with a .22-caliber handgun.  No names have been released.
