The Manitowoc Winter Market will be open for the final time this season on February 24th. The Winter Market sells a wide variety of locally produced foods, including organic produce, honey, syrup, eggs, salsa, chicken, turkey, beef, pork, lamb and much more. Pat Sampi, who manages the market, explains where they get some of their food.
Manitowoc’s Winter Market is in its second year of existence, and is completely separate from Manitowoc’s Summer Farmer’s Market. There are a few benefits to buying locally grown and produced foods. The first is the obvious monetary gain for local businesses, but according to Brandi Bulman, Sampi’s assistant, there is also a nutritional benefit as well.
The Manitowoc Winter Market will be open from 9:00-1:00 PM. The market is located at the Crossfit building at 3651 Dewey Street.
