A former Green Bay teacher is very thankful for the active shooter training she received here, as it helped her keep son out of danger during the shooting in Florida earlier this week. Natalie Neree worked in the Green Bay Area Public School District for 18 years, including as a teacher at East High School in 2006, when there was a bomb threat thwarted. She underwent several active shooter training sessions, which she says helped keep her son safe. She received a call from her son telling her about the shooting. She then used her training to keep her son calm, and to get him to safety. She now has the tough responsibility to help her son process losing two friends and his geography teacher.
