Low bids on the Rubick Field renovation project will be made public by the middle of next week…according to Manitowoc public school district superintendent Mark Holzman. The district leader tells Seehafer News he met with members of the buildings and grounds committee earlier this week to talk about the progress of receiving project bids for the major upgrade. Holzman explains they’re very close to selecting the general contractor, electricians, visitor bleachers supplier and the special turf. …they are using.
Holzman says a local private group has raised $700-thousand dollars for the synthetic turf…along with board approval of district funds to cover the entire cost of the project.
The school superintendent said the timeline remains on track for groundbreaking in late May….with a grand opening in early August…in time for the start of fall football and soccer. He added the buildings and grounds committee will submit a report on the bid process at the full Manitowoc Board of Education meeting next Tuesday.
